Protecting Your Brand & Trademarks

January 26, 2014

A unique and effective brand can be a real advantage to any business. It not only differentiates you from other businesses but it is synonymous with your company's identity and reputation. While the internet gives your brand the opportunity to reach millions of people, it also makes your brand identity easily accessible by millions across the globe. In today's information age, it is important to not only pick a company name that distinguishes you from the rest but also take measures to protect one of your business' most valuable assets...your brand.

The Intellectual Property and Franchising Practice Group invites you to attend an informative breakfast seminar on important aspects of brand name selection and trademark protection. Business owners, marketing professionals and business leaders will gain insight on the following areas with time allowed for questions to be addressed by the presenters:

  • Selecting a brand name that will differentiate you from the competition and avoid conflict with trademark rights of others
  • Legal protection of your brand as a “trademark” or “service mark”
  • Federal and state registration rights and processes for trademarks and service marks
  • Brand rights infringements and how to best deal with infringers

A webinar version of the seminar is being offered on February 27th for those who cannot physically attend the seminar.  Click here for more information.
